The SWIRCA & More Campaign for senior independence

GIVE NOW

Adults 65 years and older constitute the most rapidly growing segment of our population today. This unprecedented growth represents a long-term shift in our country’s age demographics and magnifies the potential future gaps in services that seniors have come to depend on.

Of the 61,546 individuals over the age of 65 residing in southwestern Indiana in 2019, 53% sought support from SWIRCA & More through respite care, in-home personal care, nutrition, preventative health education, transportation, and options-counseling. As this population continues to grow, so will the need for our services.

SWIRCA is at a tipping point. With our older population growing at a rapid rate, seniors are going to outpace our existing services 3 to 1 by 2026. Our current building is at full capacity with no available room for growth in critical services or to house additional programmatic staff. If SWIRCA is to continue to provide excellent services to

those in need, we must expand to provide the capacity it takes to deliver our top-quality services and introduce new state-of-the-art programming.

But we cannot do this alone. Through your partnership and support, we can build a stronger future for seniors, those living with disabilities, and their caregivers in our community.
