campaign LEadership
A team of dedicated community leaders has been assembled to share SWIRCA’s story, highlight its mission of service and accomplishments, and offer the opportunity for investment in the future of our community.
Any of these volunteers, or a SWIRCA staff member will be happy to share their passion for our seniors and how SWIRCA has touched their heart.

A Letter from SWIRCA President
Rhonda J. Zuber
Most people, when asked, do not consider themselves "old", just growing older and much wiser. In our wisdom we understand the importance of aging independently at home amongst our friends and family. Without SWIRCA and the services we provide, seniors would simply not have the options they do today. We proudly serve all seniors and those living with disabilities, regardless of income, ability, or their aging journey.
Seniors will be the largest age demographic in the United States by 2030. Here at home, our numbers will more than double. In 2021, 53% of the senior population turned to SWIRCA for counseling, nutrition, health and wellness activities, and care management. 53%! SWIRCA must be ready for the increased demand for services to ensure the most vulnerable in our community receive the best age-related resources and care.
Our quest for additional space started with a simple request, “Could we begin offering classes on how to work an iPhone?” Such a simple request, but we had no space in our current building to dedicate to this class. Could we rearrange? Could we double up? As conversations continued, we quickly realized that continued education for our senior population was a huge unmet need. One we were uniquely positioned to fulfill.
Inspired by our mission, we determined the best way to prepare for the future was to enhance and improve on the areas that are most critical for our seniors. We have started our journey, (thanks to early gifts and grants) to make some critical updates to our current facility and expand staffing to prepare for the next evolution of aging-in-place services. We need your help though to continue moving forward to add critical space and support services. Our passion for helping individuals live independent lives drives our need to complete this project.
I am privileged to lead an organization that touches so many people from all walks of life. Please join with me in this campaign and see how your financial support will change lives and leave a lasting impact in our community.
Positively,
Rhonda
